Individuals only have the ability to take necessary steps on a small scale, whereas governments can enforce the vast majority of people and governments to comply with measures. Just of the top of my head, governments can implement a cap and trade system, or an incentive-based system to help keep air pollution and carbon emissions to a minimum.”

“This question all depends on who you talk with. For some people, it's not contentious, but for others it boils down to whether they believe the scientific community. For this second group, a lot of these people tend to be in the business community and these added regulations would hurt their profit margins. And to be honest, I understand where they're coming from. It's a difficult balance between producing a profit and maintaining a quality environment. But that's the heart of the issue.”
