Tips & Examples

Tables are made up of rows and columns. When writing about a table it is a good strategy to write about rows in one paragraph, then columns in the other. However, this is not always possible and often the candidate must be creative when grouping the data.

The table highlights Tigard students attending school based on gender in 2012. Overall, it can be seen that, as students get older the quantity going to school drops, with this trend most notably seen in girls.

With regards to early education, there was a significantly higher amount of girls compared to boy in attendance of primary school with slightly more than 875 for the former and roughly 650 for the latter. This trend continues at the secondary school level, with approximately 790 female and 578 male attendees. Moreover, in high school girls persistently outnumber boys with 467 and 523 respectively.

On the other hand, at the University level, boys overtook the amount of girls present with fewer than 270 boys and slightly below 250 girls. In continuation with this tendency, more males went to graduate school with 120 boy attendees. In contrast, females numbered with fewer than 100 total graduate school students.
